Chongqing holds a vital role as one of China's four direct controlled municipalities. Chongqing has a rich history, developing from a strategic trading station to a vibrant urban center renowned for its economic significance, cultural heritage, and modern development.

Chongqing is famous for its unique historical and cultural heritage, including Bayu culture, Hongyan culture, and dialect culture. These cultures have permeated into the lives of the people of Chongqing, creating its unique urban landscape. Bayu culture is one of the most distinctive ethnic cultures in the upstream of the Yangtze River. The ancestors of Chongqing people have always lived between mountains and rivers. Influenced by nature and the harsh environment, they have developed a tenacious, resilient, and aggressive personality.

Chongqing's cuisine is widely renowned, and its unique landscape and culture have created a rich variety of delicacies. Especially hot pot, derived from the cuisine of former dock workers, has become one of the labels of this city due to its hot and spicy taste and social attributes. The city also has a rich landscape. The landform of the intersection of the two rivers and the surrounding mountains has created many breathtaking beautiful scenes, including The Three Gorges, Chaotianmen Wharf, Dazu Rock Carvings, etc.
